RTW: I Judge Books By Their Covers

It’s Wednesday!

Road Trip Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by the lovely writers at YA Highway. Today’s topic?

What are your all-time favorite book covers?

I am a HUGE cover-snob, so I’m just gonna skip the wordage and move on to the cover-age! (This post is based SOLELY on cover – not the book or how much I liked it – I haven’t even read some of these)

I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot! If you participated in RTW, please leave your link in the comments. If you don’t want to do your own post, just tell me what your favorite book cover is?

  1. Oooh – these are good ones. REALLY good ones. I forgot about POSSESS and yeah, that Specials cover had me too. Great choices!

  2. Oh, you’ve got some good ones! Some I haven’t seen!
I think my fav on your list would be Wildefire! Such a fun post!

  3. Carrier of the Mark is gorgeous–I would totally read that book based on the cover. Good choices!

  4. Leigh Caron says:

Beautiful Maria of my Soul. LOve that cover.

  5. Gorgeous covers. You seem to like the fade away/into other things. I forgot Graceling had the reflection in it. I like reflections.

  6. Crystal says:

Oooh, I like that cover for Angelfall. Shiny!

  7. Torment’s cover is gorgeous. I’d like to buy that dress and the one on the cover of Hereafter and crash a couple of balls.

  8. Sarah says:

I see some similarities here! :) I love how everyone’s personal style is reflected in the kinds of covers they love! I dig the GRACELING cover so much!

  9. Cara M says:

Wow, these are all really awesome. I particularly like Graceling and Ruby Red!

You have some that I completely forgot about on here. All beautiful!

  11. Ariana says:

The cover of POSSESS makes me want to pick it up! Cool choices.

  12. Ah, these are all so dramatic and moody. Hereafter is particularly beautiful, I think. Possess, too.

  13. Kaitlin says:

I almost added Wildefire’s cover to my list but I felt like I was getting carried away LOL. That Angelfall cover, I hadn’t seen before and it’s BEAUTIFUL.

I KNOW! I love Angelfall’s cover (and the book). It’s a self-published YA post-apoc featuring angels by Susan Ee. It’s only $3, so you should check it out. I wish it was available in paper/hardback so I could have one for my shelf!

  14. Donelle Lacy says:

Some great covers! I love Torment and Possess too. I included Incarceron on my own list! Good taste. *grins*

  15. BrerMatt says:

I like the two-option covers for John Green’s Paper Towns. The idea that you could get the happy Margot or the sad Margot, really gets to the point – neither is the complete Margot.

I like the classic Catcher in the Rye cover, but mostly because it is classic and nostalgic.
